Well, it's over!

Well Blogger,
we have had an up and down relationship and today is the day I say goodbye. Blogger just isn't for me. I tried to convert from Tumblr but I feel Tumblr is more my style. Wee snippets of my life here and there whereas I feel Blogger is very formal and most bloggers have a "theme". I will stick around to read blogs but I won't be posting anything after this.

So, you will now find me here!

Birthday blues

Last Sunday was my 23rd birthday. I'm 23, oh dear. I feel like by now I should have something to show for my years, something substantial. Yeah, I've graduated Uni but do I have a job in that area? No. Yeah, I have a full time job but is it what I want to do for the rest of my life? No. Sure, I've travelled about, mainly Europe and North America but have I fully experienced being a girl on her own path? No.
Right now I'm feeling a little deflated with life as I feel like it's just zooming past me and I can't quite get up to speed with it to enjoy it.
Other than my depressing mood which accompanied my birthday I had a good day. I had wanted to have a birthday dinner with my mum and sister but that fell through. My sisters boyfriend had crashed his car so he wasn't in the mood and my mum had fell down a rabbit hole whilst playing Golf (no joke) plus my mums boyfriends sister-in-law had passed away a few days earlier so he wasn't in much of a mood either!
My boyfriend and I went down to Largs for some ice cream and then just got a BluRay and a pizza and I was happy as larry. I was even surprised with a Hello Kitty birthday cake.
I got some awesome presents and I felt 100% spoiled.

The best thing I got came from Ayden and it was these beauties

They tasted mighty fine after I got over my initial "They are too pretty to eat" phase

Other than that I've just been working, seeing my boyfriend, catching up with old friends and trying to go to the gym. I've somehow managed to lose like 10 lbs which I reckon is a good thing and I'm on the path to healthyness!

Peace out! ;)

I'm back without vengance.

Well hello there, I wonder if any of you lovely people remember me? I'm Leah and I'm a terrible blogger. I'm still trying though. It has been 2 months since my last post and I wish I had lots of juicy stories to share with lots of interesting photos. Sadly, I don't. I've pretty much been keeping myself busy with work trying to save as much as I can.

There has been one major thing that happened about a month ago. I gained a step-mum! My dad got married in Gibraltar on the 25th of May and it was a lovely day. Getting to Spain from Glasgow was more than a little bit stressful. Our first flight on the Monday night was cancelled due to severe winds, our second flight from Glasgow on the Tuesday morning was cancelled due to the ash cloud from Iceland. Our last chance to get there on time included a 4 hour drive down to Liverpool in the middle of the night and an extra day off work, £100 in petrol and £30 in parking. Can you tell how badly I wanted to get there? The wedding itself was lovely and seeing family and just generally spending time with the people that mean most to you is awesome!

Other than that, I have a gym induction tomorrow to finally get started on getting fit and healthy! I'm a little nervous about it though because I'm forever plagued with the dreaded "What are they going to think of me?! They are going to laugh at how unfit I am" etc etc. It's all just in my head as I know everyone has to start somewhere. Wish me luck eh?

Watching Beyonce do her thing at Glasto. I'm not much of a fan but I can't seem to take my eyes off of her!
I'm hoping it won't be another 2 months until my next post but until then,

CIAO!

Back to the grind!

So, my luck changed a little and I finally got a job and I couldn't be more pleased with it! It's in a wee cafe in Clydebank called Colpi. I'm the "barista" and everyone is so amazed (their words) at how good I can make coffee. I didn't think it was that hard.....
The owner Martin is a bit of an odd ball but hes really very nice! The whole staff who work there are all really friendly and I'm really enjoying it. It's not just because I have a job and I'm feeling more secure but I genuinely enjoy being a barista and making coffee! Even though I've only been there a week it feels like I've been there for ages which I reckon is always a good thing.

I bought a dress for my Dads wedding earlier on. It wasnt the original one I wanted from Coast as I realised I couldn't justify £90 for a dress I'll probably only wear once! So I chose this one

It's from Red Herring at Debenhams and it's very summery, not too dressy but not too casual either and very much my style! As it's Easter weekend this beauty was on sale from £45 down to £36 and it had pretty much sold out except from my size. I took that as a sign to get it.

Last weekend the weather was so nice that me and my other half went a trip to the beach! It was lovely and warm and I got a little bit of sun on my shoulders.

Hopefully if it stays nice over the next couple of weeks we are going to take a picnic down to the beach and hang out all day! I love living close to the coast.

As I'm off to Spain for a week at the end of May and can't afford to buy many items of clothing I was wondering if you lovely people could share with me a pattern to make a very simple elasticated bandeau dress? Even although my mum is a glorified dressmaker, has owned her own fabric store and has even made wedding dresses, she refuses to help me. It saddens me slightly because she would be awesome to show me!
Anyway, anything you can offer, throw it my way!

Right now, The Prince of Persia has my attention and a cup of tea is calling my name so I'm calling it a night.

Until next time bloggerinos!

Jetpacks Was Yes!

I've become addicted to a band called Periphery. Their self titled album is pretty amazing and the track "Jetpacks Was Yes!" is my favourite. I love listening to new bands and sometimes just find myself watching the tv channel Scuzz to see what new tracks they have to offer. One thing I do find though is the first track I hear and love becomes my favourite track on the CD. Other things I'm listening to at the moment are The Glitch Mob, M83, Anna Nalick and the song "Katy on a Mission" byt Katy B.  I really do have a varied taste in music.
I like to mix it up a little, ya know?

I've finally gave into Polyvore and I'm addicted. I managed to create a look for my Dads wedding which I'm pleased with.

The dress is from Coast and I love it! The shoes are from an american website but I might see if I can find similar ones here first and the bag is from House of Fraser. The jewelrry is from Tiffany and I have both of those items. Well, I will have the bracelet come my first paycheck. It will actually be my second one.
The story goes: My boyfriend and I went on a 3 week holiday around the US and Canada last year and our last week was spent in New York. He bought be said bracelet for my birthday (spoiled and lucky, I know!). Fast forward to October, I'm in Tesco getting some food for dinner and hear a "clink" sound which I think nothing of. After getting in my car and driving pretty much the all the way down to my boyfriends I realise the bracelet is gone. It was lost. I was gutted. My life pretty much went downhill from there, HA.
I feel I got lost on a tangent, back to my Polyvore and wedding outfit.

Do you have any suggestions for my wedding outfit?

I also made another one of my wishlist from Vans. I love Vans.
Back to reality. I actually got offered a job the other day doing something I hate. Working in a call centre, ugh. I suppose its a job and I can't really complain but while I'm waiting for a start date I'm still applying and interviewing for other positions!

I forgot to mention a little while ago that I bought MACs Wonder Woman Mascara in "Bad, Bad, Black".

To be perfectly honest, I'm a little disappointed. It's pretty much Opulash with different packaging. I had Opulash before and it's just not what I like in a mascara - clumpy! I think once this one is done, I'll be going back to Haute and Naughty!

I recently won an auction on Ebay for a Reko for Topshop dress with eiffel towers on it. I wanted it when it first came out but I couldn't justify the £45 quid it was. I reckon £15 quid on ebay is decent!
The listing had said the owner had changed the buttons and when I got it through the posted, I hated them.

So I went to my local fabric store and bought some buttons and changed them.

I looks and fits so much better with 4 little buttons instead of 3 and I prefer it so much more. I like to put my little stamp on things!

Fix The Web!

Well, it appears I'm STILL struggling to get into the habit of blogging. I have the mentality of "If i'm bored of my life, others will be too" so I'm not bothered as of late!
This week I've been applying for jobs like there's no tomorrow, having and getting knocked back from interviews and having a few days where I just want to up and leave.
3 months today I have officially unemployed and it is terrible. I don't know how people live their entire lives without having jobs, I'm starting to go mental!
On a positive note, I've started volunteering for Fix The Web (http://www.fixtheweb.net). It's pretty up my street and I'm excited to get stuck in. You don't have to have great in-depth knowledge of computers or websites but some basic knowledge helps! Head on over and check them out and volunteer! You can help out from the comfort of the couch at home!

In other news, my Dad is coming over on Friday to buy his Kilt for his wedding. I have a feeling I'm going to be very emotional seeing him try them on. I'm your typical "Daddys Girl".

I need  your help fellow bloggers,  my music collection as of late is getting dusty and I'm looking for inspiration to listen to new bands! I'll listen to anything once but my favourite types of music are puck rock, pop rock, hardcore, screamo etc. Pretty much anything you would see on the Scuzz music channel!
Help a sister out!

On the edge of night.....

Well hello bloggers, it's been a while eh? I've still not managed to get into a routine of blogging and I'm feeling that because I don't have a job right now I don't have very much to report.
Over the last 2 weeks I've spent more money than I should have.
The Valentines gift I got for my other half FINALLY came, 2 weeks after I had ordered it. I chose all the pictures and spent a couple of minutes putting all the pictures in and when I have it to my boyfriend he was elated! Said it was awesome (He's easily pleased).
There was 4 other pictures obviously and I was super annoyed when I got the picture of us over looking Central Park in New York because my face had been cut off! Must have been the size of photo I had picked. (Those two cuties on the left are my Nieces, best little girls around).

My sister came home last week for a couple of days and it was so good to spend some time with her. We went to dinner and a movie and we saw Morning Glory. I have never laughed so hard a film in such a long time. It was amazing! I have a but of a soft spot for Harrison Ford anyway!

I had an  Ebay clear out not too long ago and made a whopping £65 quid! So I felt the need to buy myself some goodies!
Topshop

H&M

I decided to be brave when shopping and getting out of my usual colour palette. My usual colours are black, white, grey, purple and pink. So I reckon I did well and I feel very comfortable and better about myself in my new clothes! I also bought some more Barry M in Mushroom. I really like this colour as again, it's different to my usual palette. Boy, I'm growing up!

Tuesday I had a day out with my other half which was nice, we went shopping and he got lots of nice things from TK MAXX. A Polo Ralph Lauren poloshirt and hoodie and a pair of Osiris shoes all for £100. TK Maxx is pretty awesome sometimes. He was feeling generous and decided to buy me a little something I'd bee after for a while

I'm in love with Vans. They are my "go to" brand for shoes. I love these ones on, very much my style. He also bought me some Fenchurch socks. I do enjoy a little Fenchurch because their packaging of things is always awesome. They were also only £3 so it was a bargain and a bit! I then treated him to some lunch in Tinderbox

It was a lovely afternoon and we went to the movies which was also good.

Yesterday was road trip time. I went with my friend Ayden to view some flats in the area she may be moving to. The flats were very nice and were snapped up pretty quick but it gave me an insight of what I would be after when it comes my turn to be out in the big bag world! The trip there was questionable with a TomTom and roadworks but we made it there and home safe!

This morning I had a job interview for an Admin support position with a company in Greenock. I'm hoping I get it, not just because its a job and I need one because it's local and seems like an interesting job that I could do! We shall see though, keep your fingers and toes crossed for me eh?

This is me about 20 minutes ago. It's the first time in a while where I've been comfortable with the way I look. I look like I've just shaved the side of my head when infact its just pinned behind my ear!

Sunday, 20 February 2011

So this week began with Valentines Day. Much like other people, I'm not too fussed about Valentines but it is nice. Being unemployed I didn't have much money to get my beau anything so I spent £5 on this photo cube that rotates. I ordered it like a week ago and it is still to arrive, not happy! I also made him love heart shaped brownies which he proceeded to munch, I manged to get a photo of the last one before he demolished them:
His Card.

I love getting flowers.

He got me flowers and a little teddy type thing. He also took me out for lunch. Nowhere fancy, Frankie and Bennys to make the most of their 3 course £8.99 deal. We sure know how to live large eh? It was super nice and the only downer was the weather! We had planned to go see a movie but the cinema was packed and almost every movie was sold out so we abandoned that idea and headed home. Had a nice wee chilled night watching TV. We are both addicted to the new Sky Atlantic tv channel. How sad, eh? There are some awesome new shows on and some old favourites like the XFiles. I was so happy to see they were starting it from the start and when I tuned in one day it happened to be the first episode I had eve seen when I was younger.

The rest of the week didn't consist of much. The other day I decided I would go for a walk and get some Snapple. (If you've never had/heard of Snapple - google it! Readily available in the States but not so much over here) The place that sells it is a wee cafe the next town over, which happens to be exactly 3 miles from my house. Google maps has it's uses. So off I toddled, it took me an hour to get there, I got stuck in a dead end where the ferry is and had to double back, it was raining but I finally got my Snapple. It was totally worth it. On the way back I tweaked my leg and was almost crawling back. That night and the next day I could barely move without it hurting. My mum said I might have pulled something, I put it down to be completely unfit to the point my "muscles" were punishing me for making them work.

Yesterday I got to see my besto and go shopping to get her a dress for her dads wedding. Saturday + Glasgow + shopping = NIGHTMARE. So many rude people pushing past and too many bratty children for my liking. After a trip to Topshop, debenhams and then back to Topshop we had a winner. Picked by me because I'm just awesome, ha! I think when someone in stressing to get a dress they are too busy panicking to actually looking around, that's what buds are for :). Some new heels and accessories later we were off to MAC for me to spoil myself as I had a mysterious payment from my old job at Amazon of £150. It must have been overdue wages or something but I wasn't complaining.
I got the following:
Everybody needs a pencil sharpner

Pinch O' Peach

Blacktrack
I yet to try my two products out mainly because my skin is playing havoc with me just now. I mentioned in a previous post about having Eczema. I don't have it very severe any more but it still shows its head regularly and when it does, it does it painfully! Over the years I have used 80% of all steroid creams (these actually damage your skin) and all the available moisturisers which have zero ingredients. I not the person you can go out and try a new nice smelling moisturisers nor can I use regular soap. I get both of those items prescribed which is a little annoying. I can only use one type of Shampoo and Conditioner - Herbal Essences. I can also only use one brand of make-up. MAC.
You will more than likley only ever see me buy MAC products and that's because I've tried every other affordable brand out there and they just cause me pain! I'm starting to think the Sephora compact Ayden gave to me is the cause of my irritated eyes and skin. Hmmph.

This week I'm having a day to the movies with my beau tomorrow and applying for more jobs. Fun! I'm also hoping to catch my friend Rhyan before be moves down to Wales.
