So this past weekend has been a ball! I had a nice wee weekend with my other half!
Started off on Friday when I met him in Glasgow at 11am and we went to see The Green Hornet. Seth Rogen looks better chubbier, I think it's only me who feels that way. I like the film but some the scenes that were shot, the WAY they were shot sort of confused me. The whole time I was thinking that nothing really interlinks and it's a bit jumpy ( not scary ). It was still a good film though.
Afterwards we made our way through to Edinburgh and I was super excited to see our hotel for the evening. After getting lost once or twice we finally found our way to the hotel and car park. We were worried about checking in because it was booked under my sisters married name and oviously I don't have the same name. It was fine though, the receptionist was really nice and we even had our own "bell boy"? to take us to our room. He was Spanish and called Ricardo....... After showing us to our wee room it was amazing! The bed was so comfy and the bathroom, WOW! We had a huge bath and a separate shower. After a quick nap we both got up and ready to go out, I looked like this
and he looked like this:
When we were set to go something went wrong, our door wouldn't lock! We tried everything before going to find someone who brought out a manager who basically had never seen anything like this apparently. He locked the door manually for us and off  we toddled fora wee walk before out dinner res at the Hard Rock. During our walk I got a phone call from the Manager (his name was Scott and he was the nicest guy ever) basically saying they couldn't fix the lock so he was going to move us to another room. Not just your average room but a suite! A SUITE! I was super excited. We didn't have time to go back to swap rooms so he said it would be okay to do it later.
Of to the Hard Rock we went. Funnily enough I've been to many Hard Rock Cafes but never the one in Edinburgh. It was small but cosy and had your usual memorabilia on the wall. I decided to go all out and get a cocktail for £10.80 and get a free glass! I thought it was a good idea as the cocktails themselves were £5 odd. I had mac and cheese with chicken and Marc had a huge burger! We also shared a starter and were super stuffed so we decided to wait until we got back to the hotel and order some room service dessert. This unfortunately never happened!

When we got back to the hotel we were introduced to our suite - which came with complimentary Whisky and holy hell! It's the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in! When they were cutting the key I look at the price list and apparently a suite is almost £500 a night!

I loved it! The bed was big enough to fit about 4 people in it and was super comfy. We also got robes and slippers to make it that little bit more like home! Marc stole the slippers and I'm waiting for them to be charged to his credit card! I couldn't believe that we got upgraded to this all for a faulty lock! Now that is good customer service! If I had the money I would totally go back to this hotel and stay for longer. I would recommend it to anyone! For some reason though, the hotel had a thing for naked ladies! All over the joint I swear! Was amusing!
Here's some more random snaps:

After an awesome nights sleep in the huge bed we got up and checked out and dumped out stuff in th car and toddled off to find somwhere for breakfast. Neither of us are really sure of the area so we sticked of old faithful Wetherspoons for breakfast. I had pancakes, he had a Scottish breakfast. Was really nice actually. After munching and going for a quick walk we got back to the car to head to Paradise, most people will know this as Celtic Football Club.

After being together more than 2 years this is the first time he took me to a football game and I must admit I enjoyed it. He is such a big football fan and I'm thinking of getting him Hospitality at one of the home games for Valentines Day as Calvin Klein boxers only do so much. Who knows!
4th row from the front, behind the goal and we got to see Stokes score his goal. I probably wouldn't sit here again as the second half was boring as Aberdeen are crap so the ball wasn't up our end much!
Afterwards we went home and chilled out and watched Predator. It was the first time I'd seen the whole thing. As much as I hate to admit it, I love Arnie films. So good!
Sunday we lazed about like never before and then went out for dinner with his parents which was nice. The only one thing I disliked about it was the desert. When you think of Creme Brulee, do you think of creamy custardy goodness or do you think of freezing cold goup? It was terrible. I took one bite and couldnt eat anymore. Felt like I was eating yoghurt that had been frozen and had started to defrost. UGH!
So that was my weekend in a nutshell, a large nutshell.
This week I have so far applied for 6 more jobs, went to the job centre and had a 45 min chat with my advisor about Canada next year and bought this badboy:
Raspberry is the name and I'm looking forward to trying it out!
My plans for tomorrow are to look out a wooden box I made in my standard grade craft class and have a telephone interview for Tesco Bank!

Wish all the best throughts for me as I need all the help I can get becoming employed!

Thursday 20 January 2011

I have been 100% lagging on the blogging front. I would love to say it's because I've been super busy - it's not. I'm just lazy, plain and simple! To be honest this week I've been feeling a little down. I'm totally past the "freaking out" part of not having a job and I'm now onto "WHY WON'T YOU REPLY TO MY APPLICATION" part. The most annoying part of job hunting is not formulating and impressive but concise CV, it's not phrasing that cover letter to make you sound amazing, it's knowing that most employers do not give a fuck! It's definitely grating on my nerves and getting me down, so down it's got to the point where I've not showered in 3 days. I feel a little disgusting posting this on the internet for all the world to see but hey this is my blog right? If you are following me be prepared to hear all about my bad habits and embarrassing moments.

Also this week I've been to the cinema to see two of the most insprirng movies. First was 127 Hours where James Franco plays Aron Ralston, a climber who cuts off his own arm to make sure he survives. Second was The Way Back with Collin Farrell and Ed Harris set in the 1940's about men who escaped from a Gulag prison camp in Siberia and walked 4000 miles through countryside, desert and the Himalayas to get to India to start fresh. These movies are incredible, they make me want to be like that. To have such determination in what you what that you'd go to such lengths as cutting off your own arm with a blunt knife or walking for days without water. I suppose I've never been put in such a situation to have to feel like that. I'm not trapped by a boulder and I'm not in a prison camp in the middle of baron land with temperatures which average out to -5C. Anyway, enough of my ramblings but definatley have a swatch at these movies!

Tomorrow is my night at The Glasshouse in Edinburgh. I'm excited to say the least but I feel bad that my sister spent £112 on the room and can't go but doesn't want any sort of money or compensation back for it! Kind of an expensive, random time of the year present! I will most definitely make it up to her once I have a job. I'm thinking something Spa related? Could be a sister thing. Get my other sister involved. Although in saying that my other sister is in the RAF and isn't exactly your 'girly' type of girl. Who knows, she could be swayed!
Back to point, Edinburgh should be fun. Marc (my boyfriend) are going to the Hard Rock Cafe as we don't really know anywhere else in the 'burgh to eat nor do very many of our friends. Neither of us have been to the HRC in the burgh anyway. On Saturday our plans are to maybe head to the Celtic Vs Aberdeen football game. When I first go together with my beau in late 2008 he always said he would get me to a Celtic game I often said that I wouldn't be caught dead at a football game. Look how times change! He likes to do most things I do but football is just the one thing I just can't get into (along with the majority of girls) so I thought I'd be nice and make his dream come true!
The only thing I dislike about this plan is it means I'm missing my besto Ayden getting her first sitting of her tattoo (there better be two or else you're dead ;) ) I'm a tattoo buff and would LOVE to one day be covered in tattoos. Right now though thats the last thing I can afford so I really wanted to go with Ayden to stop her from almost fainting and also smelling the ink smell and gun sound......ahhh memories.
I shall take this time to show off my best and favourite tattoo.
It's on my ribs so it's hard to show off so I take most opportunities I get, haha!

Well, bloggers it's been fun but I must go and get my things ready for my weekend of fun. I have to make too many decisions of what to wear......

Saturday 8 January 2011

Wow, so thanks to my besto Ayden's promotion I've went from having 1 follower (Ayden) to 6 to 14! So hello to you all. I'm Leah, I'm 22 and reside in a wee town on the Clyde called Greenock. I hope you enjoy my blog. I don't really have a theme, just my general everyday life and goings on. There will possibly be a few pictures semi naked tattooed ladies and all about my quest of trying new Teas.

Back to my life. Yesterday I had to go to the job centre and "sign on". I guess you can look at it two ways, 1. you work your ass off for so many years paying taxes so others can live - so at some point you're deserving of it 2. It's completely soul destroying (well for me). I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it and i'm most definitely not a snob but it just dented my pride. When I got to the job centre the security guard at the door ased what I was there for, directed me around the corner to some seating and before I walked off - warned me to keep an eye on my bag and belonging. What a way to welcome you eh? It's wasn't so bad and my advisor said that I looked really out of place and uncomfortable. Which I did.
After words I went into Greenock of a quest to find a 2011 diary. Most of the diaries I saw were rather expensive and being unemploiyed I have to watch my pennies soI decided I wanted to decorate one myself.
So I bought this bad boy for £4.50 from WHSmith.

I had some old magazines lying around so got some scissors and pulled out my artistic flare and had a big pile of things I though would look good.
After some composition struggles and some sticky fingers this was my final result:
Front

Back.

The only thing that maybe ruined it was my lack of laminating skills. Sticky back plastic is my worst nightmare. It took me about 20 minutes to get it covered because I kept getting bits stuck together! I'm loving my diary because I know no one else is going to have it and elates me a little, also because it only cost me £4.50 because everything else I used was lying around my house. My next feat is to make sure I use it properly and be mega organised.

My plans for the rest of the weekend are applying for more jobs - 17 and counting so far, heading to my boyfriends to chill with pizza and a movie, shopping, dinner and movie date with said beau tomorrow and chilling on Monday because well, what else do I have to do?

I hope all you dudettes have an awesome weekend!

Thursday 6 January 2011

So today I had a job interview for a job I didn't really want. Safe to say I bigged myself up as much as possible but still didn't get it. It was a recruitment day where they have different stages and if you don't pass a stage you're effectively "voted out". I was voted out at the 2nd to last stage and I wasn't overly fussed. To make myself feel better however, I wandered back into town and picked up some basics from H&M, your typical fabric skirt and a black snood. I have been trying to find one for ages and being unemployed, I didn't have a big budget. So the one I picked up in H&M was a bargain at 6.99. HOLLA!
Off to Boots I went and got some more goodies. I got this little Maybelline compact of 4 eyeshadows and usually, I rely on MAC but just now I can't justify the £9 for one wee palette!

I love how it pretty much gives you instructions on how to put it on which is awesome for someone like me who has no clue!
I also got some Barry M Nail polish, one in Mint Green and the other was the new Nail Effects one which I've been after since it came out. Whilst enjoying my tea I had a wee shot on one had to see how it was
I kind of messed up a little but it's looking good. Only one thing I would say is you have to get the full nail covered first time otherwise by the time you dip it back in the pot, it's already started to dry and crack. Also, if you catch it, it wipes off the colour you have underneath! Poor show!

Other than that, my day was rather uneventful. Saw an old friend and her rock star boyfriend, got offered an awesome deal for pampering but had to turn it down, got an email address for a potential job and my sister offered me a night in The Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh because she can't go and it's non-refundable.

Despite my lack of job, today has been good.

Ciao!

Wednesday 5 January 2011

So, I did it. I converted from Tumblr to Blogspot. I was getting a little fed up with tumblr and how it's a contsent contest of how many followers you have. Also, no one posts any proper "blogs" - it's all pictures of things they think look cool.

Anyway, I am trying to figure this bad boy up and designing my wee page! Need to drum up some interest so people and hear all about my exciting life!

Ciao Dudes!
